Cinnamon and Honey

I THOUGHT THIS WAS VERY INTERESTING, WORTH A SHARE WITH EVERYONE:
Cinnamon & Honey

Bet the drug companies won’t like this one getting around.

Facts on honey and cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and
cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries
of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a ‘Ram Ban’ (very
effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without
any side effects for any kind of diseases.

Today’s science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the
right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly
World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has
given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and
cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of
jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the
cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also
those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they
are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process
relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and
Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have
found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and
get clogg e d; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot
water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent
research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the
doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and
half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a
week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were
totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who
could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without
pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a
glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the
bladder.

TOOTHACHE:
Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of
honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be applied three times a day
until the tooth stops aching.

CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in
16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce
the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As
mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic
cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said
journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of
cholesterol.

COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon
lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days . This
process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears
stomach ulcers from the root.

GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that if
honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and
protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found
that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of
honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral
diseases.

INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food
relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural
Ingredient which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from
flu.

LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests
the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon
powder and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup,
three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests
old age. Life spans also increases and even a 100 year old, starts
performing the chor es of a 20-year-old.

PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste.
Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning
with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the
root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts
cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach
and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one
cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the
most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow
the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high
calorie diet.

CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer
of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering
from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with
one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.

FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more
helpful rather than! than being detrimental to the strength of the body.
Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are
more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a
half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with
cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about
3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, in cr eases the
vitality of the body within a week.

BAD BREATH:
People of South America, first thing in the morning, gargle with one
teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath
stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS:
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts
restore hearing.

25 Easy Money-Saving Tips

1. Cut out the soda and drink more water! You’d be
surprised how much you will save.

2. Go over your grocery list. Try buying more off-brands.
Most of the ones I’ve tried are just as good as their more
expensive counterparts.

3. Buy clothes and shoes for you and the kids from the
clearance racks. I have been buying my sons’ school clothes
this way for years!

4. Get movies from the library instead of renting them.

5. Same with books, borrow instead of buy. We usually
only read them once anyway.

6. Go on a picnic instead of going to the restaurant. It
is more fun and much cheaper!

7. Toss all your change in a “piggy bank” of some kind and
let it accumulate for a few months or longer. You will think
you struck it rich! (Not really, but it does add up)

8. If you have all the movie channels, cut them down a bit.
Most of the movies rotate through them all anyway.

9. Do your laundry at night. The rates are cheaper.

10. Give your clothes an extra spin as it costs less to run
a washer than the dryer.

11. Ask your credit card companies for a lower interest
rate. Sometimes rather than lose a good customer, they
will grant your wish!

12. Buy your holiday decorations AFTER the holiday. You
can save up to 75% or more.

13. Turn down your heat a couple degrees more at night
and throw on an extra blanket.

14. Clean behind your refrigerator at least once a year to
get out all the dust and dirt that can cost you more money.

15. Save empty bread bags and grocery bags instead of
buying box after box of storage bags.

16. Keep your car tune and your tires properly inflated
to save money on gas.

17. Buy inexpensive fabric for cloth napkins, doilies, etc.

18. Be creative when it comes to decorating. Use sheets to
make curtains. Use an old quilt as a cozy wall-hanging.
Create an artful display with family photos.

19. Save the new, convenient plastic coffee cans with handles.
Paint them, decorate them and use them for organizers for
kids art supplies, your CDs, pens & pencils, food envelopes,
recipes, craft supplies, etc.

20. Turn unused stuff into money. If you have a gift you
haven’t used or that shirt you bought and never wore,
take them back to the store. You might not get full price,
but some is better than none.

21. Use petroleum jelly to remove make-up. It is much
more economical then beauty products made for
removing make-up.

22. Hydrogen peroxide can be used to kill germs in cuts
and sores rather then expensive antibiotic medicines.

23. Make windowsill or container gardens and grow
herbs and fresh vegetables.

24. Instead of a night on the town, send the kids to Grandma’s
and have a romantic night at home.

25. Make and STICK TO a budget!

New Uses for Olive Oil

Olive oil is a good lubricant because its molecules easily slide past
one another, thereby helping solid objects to overcome friction.
Its film also fills up microscopic rough spots in surfaces, making
them look polished and shiny.

Use Olive Oil to:
1. Shave. Olive oil can provide a closer shave when used in place of
shaving cream.

2. Shine stainless steel. Many cleaning standbys, such as ammonia,
can dull and even corrode chrome and stainless steel.
Olive oil, however, is a safe and effective shining agent.

3. Remove eye makeup. Dab a little under the eyes and rinse off with
a washcloth.

4. Prevent wax from sticking to a candle holder. Rub a thin coat on
the base of the holder before inserting a candle. Dripped wax should
peel away easily.

5. Care for your pet.
Add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon to your cat’s food to help prevent hair balls.

6. Moisturize cuticles. Apply a small amount of olive oil to the nail
beds.

7. Treat dry skin. Rub a thin layer over the skin after a shower or a
waxing.

8. Unstick a zipper. Using a Q-tip, apply a drop to lubricate the
teeth.
(Avoid touching the fabric.) The zipper should move up and down
freely.

9. Dust wooden furniture. Apply a bit of oil to a cloth and wipe.

10. Silence squeaky doors. Lubricate hinges by applying a small dab
to a cloth,
then wiping the top of the hinges so that the oil runs down the
sides.

6 Tips on Cold Remedies

Most cold and flu drugs attack symptoms, not the specific viruses.
They don’t cure, but they can bring relief, lighter symptoms, or
shorten your illness. There’s no one right way to treat a cold or the
flu. But here are some questions to ask your pharmacist to get the
right over-the-counter medication for you.

#1 Should I take a decongestant or an antihistamine?
This depends on your symptoms. If you have nasal or sinus congestion,
then a decongestant can be helpful. If you have drainage — either a
runny nose or postnasal drip or itchy watery eyes — then an
antihistamine may be helpful. Over-the-counter antihistamines often
make people drowsy; decongestants can make people hyper or keep them
awake. Antihistamines can make secretions thick, which can be a
problem for people with asthma. Keep in mind that both these
medications may interact with other drugs you may be taking for
conditions such as heart disease, and they may worsen some
conditions. Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist which cold
medication may be best for you.

#2 Is it safe to take a decongestant if I have high blood pressure?
Decongestants can increase blood pressure and heart rate, and
increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Pseudoephedrine is
the primary oral decongestant available. In general, if your blood
pressure is well controlled with medications, then a decongestant
shouldn’t be a problem as long as you monitor your blood pressure.
This may not be true with certain types of blood pressure
medications. Check with your doctor or pharmacist about what may be
best for you.

#3 How often should I use nasal spray?
Nasal decongestants work fast to open breathing passages. But if you
use them for more than three days in a row, you may suffer a “rebound
effect,” and end up more congested than you were at the start. Some
doctors suggest using a saline spray instead of a medicated spray.
Saline spray works more slowly but has no rebound effect.

#4 What’s the deal with cough medicine?
An occasional cough may clear the lung of pollutants and excess
phlegm. A persistent cough should be diagnosed and treated
specifically. On the shelf you’ll find numerous cough medicines with
various combinations of decongestants, antihistamines,
analgesics/antipyretics, cough suppressants, and expectorants. Ask
your pharmacist which combination, if any, would be right for you.

#5 What should I take for fever and aches?
Fever may be a good thing. It helps the body fight off infection by
suppressing the growth of bacteria and viruses and activating the
immune system. Doctors no longer recommend suppressing fever for most
people, except perhaps for the very young, the very old, and those
with certain medical conditions such as heart disease or lung
disease. However, if you are uncomfortable then it’s fine to take
medications. Young people (including those in their early 20s) should
avoid aspirin. Acetaminophen (Tylenol and others) or the numerous
other medicines like ibuprofen (Advil and others) are your best
choices. Each has their own risks, so check with your doctor or
pharmacist as to which may be best for you. Be careful not to
overdose! These drugs are often mixed in with other cough and cold
and flu remedies you may also be taking. Your pharmacist can help you
make the right choice.

#6 What’s best for my sore throat?
Drinking lots of fluids and using salt water gargles (made by
combining a cup of warm water and a teaspoon of salt) can often be
helpful for easing the pain of a sore throat. Some oral medications
(such as Tylenol) and medicated lozenges and gargles can also
temporarily soothe a sore throat. Get your doctor’s approval before
using any medications, including over-the-counter drugs, and don’t
use lozenges or gargles for more than a few days. The medications
could mask signs of strep throat, a bacterial infection that should
be treated with antibiotics.

DID YOU KNOW….

Peel a banana from the bottom and you won’t have to pick the little
“stringy things” off of it. That’s how the primates do it.

Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store. If you
leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.

Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay
fresh much longer and not mold!

Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for
eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for
cooking.

Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef. It will help pull
the grease away from the meat while cooking.

To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of
spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them
up.

For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andes
mints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies. Let set for a wonderful
minty frosting.

Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste of
garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic.

Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert.
Simply chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a few
apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy bars over
the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or with vanilla ice
cream.

1. Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove,
set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No
soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

2. Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all
broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing
thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw
bag away when done easy clean up.

3. Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it
with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to
frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and
calories per serving.

4. Reheating Refrigerated Bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place
them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep
the food moist and help it reheat faster.

5. Newspaper Weeds Away
Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet
newspapers put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with
mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic
they will not get through wet newspapers.

6. Broken Glass
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass
you can’t see easily.

7. No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes
away.

8. Squirrel Away
To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with
cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn’t hurt the plant and the squirrels
won’t come near it.

9. Flexible Vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an
empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be
bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

10. Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not
have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when
wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and — ta da! — static is
gone.

11. Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with
hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don’t dry cup. Next, add your
ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

12. Foggy Windshield?
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the
glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works
better than a cloth!

13. Reopening Envelope
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include
something inside , just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an
hour or two. Viola! It unseals easily.

14. Conditioner
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It’s a lot cheaper
than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It’s also a great way
to use up the conditioner you bought but didn’t like when you tried it in
your hair…

15. Goodbye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2″
with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid, mix well. You
will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

16. Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it
“home,” can’t digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so,
especially if it rains, but it works & you don’t have the worry about pets
or small children being harmed!

Easy Paper Craft Ideas

Make It Picture Perfect

Use a piece of scrapbook paper as a creative mat to
show off your
picture. Embellish the frame using small buttons.

Display Your Papers
Show off your favorite line of papers by decoupaging
them to a canvas
to create do-it-yourself art. Paint the edges of the
canvas to
complete the look.

Enlarge Your Favorite Page
As the foundation, use a painted backside of a
4-x-4-foot sheet of
fiberboard found at your local hardware store to mimic
textured card
stock. Create a patterned background with squares of
patterned paper.
Mount your photo (printed in sections) onto a
stretched canvas. Use
big and bigger chipboard letters to create a headline.
To make the
flowers shown, use pin-on button centers and ribbon
stems.

Revamp a Window Frame
Use an old window frame (found in antiques stores) as
a frame to show
off love ones. Gather pieces of chipboard the size of
each pane to
use as “pages.” Cover the chipboard with patterned
paper, then add
pictures and embellishments. Attach your completed
chipboard “pages”
to the back of the window panes with a staple gun. For
a finishing
touch, add rub-on words or phrases to the glass panes.

Customize a Mirror
Make a custom-made mirror for someone special. Attach
scraps of
patterned paper to the top and bottom of your
purchased find. Then
add heartfelt journaling and meaningful mementos to
remind the
recipient, each time she looks into this personalized
gift, how
special she is.

From Scraps to Frame
Use project scraps to make a custom frame that matches
your home
decor. Start by stitching squares of paper together.
Add photos to
painted metal frames, then attach a frame to each
square of patterned
paper. Back it all with a thick piece of chipboard,
foam core board,
or particleboard. Miter the ends of painted metal
strips to create
the outer frame. Add accents that match and a ribbon
to hang it.

Make a BIG frame
Take your picture frames up a notch by adhering a
couple of them to a
mat board or foam-core board covered in patterned
paper. Treat your
creation just like a really big scrapbook page and
embellish it with
large flowers, brads, and bits of fabric and paper.
Finish it with
wood letters painted to match your scheme.

Personalized Letters
Embellish wood letters with your scraps. Cut photos to
fit the shape
of the letter, then embellish using paper and ribbon
and whatever
else you please

DIY Artwork
With a little paint and some foam-core board, nine fun
cards form a
spiffy piece of artwork. Choose a boldly patterned
card then use
spray adhesive to mount onto same-size pieces of
foam-core board.
Attach the squares to the painted square with
double-sided carpet
tape, and voila! For an extra touch paint a large
square in a
contrasting color to make your art work pop off your
walls.

Boost a Memo Board
Scraps of card stock will dress up a memo board’s
unfinished wooden
frame. Devise a color scheme for your decoupage, and
be sure to wrap
scraps around frame edges to give your creation a
finished look. Swap
the simple stock buttons that come with the board for
one-of-a-kind
vintage finds from flea markets.
